GTL let you pick from a diversity of community development projects and develop your understanding of on-the-ground realities in local contexts, while immersing yourself in diverse viewpoints and new cultures. This is a chance to enrich your skill set, learn a new language, develop an appreciation for your own place in the world, and curate the adventure of a lifetime.
Our volunteers will get opportunity to work with kids at their early ages and help them reach their dreams. GTL programs in has a nursery school and day care center that teaches preschool subjects like simple arithmetic, phonics, and language skills. GTL Programs provide opportunities to the needy children to get quality education.
Primary school curriculum is friendly and all-encompassing. Most teachers are open to different methods of teaching under guidance of the curriculum. You will work with students in grades 1-7. The school offers book clubs, storytelling and art classes to the younger children. You are free to take the initiative in finding simple arts and crafts projects.
You will work with students from form I to IV (O'level) and from V-VI (A'level)
Some of the school have only O'level classes while others have both O'level & A'level classes.
English is the medium of instruction.
GTL is working with all categories: government owned schools, private schools and international schools.
Hospitals and health care can be really different from what you experienced in your home country. It can be really interesting to experience the clinical routine in Tanzania and experience new challenges career wise, while also giving back to the community in a much appreciated way.
You will have an opportunity to exchange knowledge and cross-cultural learning with local healthcare professionals, as well as other international medical volunteers.
We let you select a medical volunteer project that aligns with your area of medical expertise. We work with small clinics and big hospitals, which include different departments and includes in-patient facilities. The program is open to volunteers and interns with a medical background, such as nurses, doctors, physiotherapists,etc.
The departments are: Child Welfare, Maternity, physiotherapy, dentistry, paramedics, clinical laboratory science, emergency medicine (EMTs), speech therapy, optometry, nutrition, public health, orthopedics, radiology, HIV/AIDS support, midwifery, pediatrics, Outpatient Unit, Observation Unit and Pharmacy.

Also we have social work programs which aim to improve the well-being of children and their families. Social work volunteers help with arranging adoptions and finding homes for abandoned or abused children.
Grand Tanzanian Love also send social work volunteers to schools especially public schools, where they support students by addressing truancy, behavioral problems, teenage pregnancy and other issues.
